Bio
I have worked as a psychotherapist in private practice in West Los Angeles for over 25 years. Prior to becoming licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 1991, I graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a major in Psychology, and I earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Ryokan College. I received clinical training at the Maple Center in Beverly Hills and Center for Family in Torrance in individual, couples, and family psychotherapy. From 1989 to 2018, I was an adjunct faculty member at Crossroads School working with teenagers in group settings as they navigated the complex worlds of families, relationships, cultural pressures, secondary school, and college. I have received specialized training throughout my career, most recently in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT) and in couples therapy from the PACT Institute and the Gottman Institute.
I use an integrative approach to address relational problems, mood and anxiety concerns, self-esteem issues, addictions and conflict. I also specialize in helping people who struggle with spiritual/religious conflicts and dilemmas and those dealing with sexual concerns. For people seeking personal growth or professional expansion, I offer coaching methods that focus on practical solutions that will help people move forward in their lives and work.
Over the years, I have worked with clients from a wide variety of ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds as well as persons with varying sexual orientations and gender identities.
