Therapeutic Approach
My work is devoted to helping others explore and resolve conflicts that prevent them from having more fulfilling lives. In over 20 years of private practice experience, I have become acutely aware of how people fall prey to ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving that inhibit their capacity to fully engage in their lives. I understand how experiences and traumas can reverberate through one’s life and cause depression, anxiety, personal emptiness, and feelings of instability in the self. I work with individuals to untangle these patterns and connect with the parts of their selves that promote healing and expansion. In addition, I work with couples and families to heal rifts that result from unproductive and conflictual communication styles.
My approach is integrative. I combine psychodynamic approaches and cognitive behavioral therapy with mindfulness-based methods. I draw upon contemporary positive psychology and mind/body techniques.
My style is collaborative. It is vitally important to forge a strong partnership with each client so we can work together to address challenges and promote well-being.
